Decision No. (38) of 2023 amending Article One of Decision No. (43) of 2003 regarding the Ownership by Non-Bahrainis of Built Properties and Land in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Prime Minister: 

Having reviewed Legislative Decree No.(2) of 2001 regarding Ownership by Non-Bahrainis of Built Properties and Land; 

Decision No. (43) of 2003 regarding the Ownership by Non-Bahrainis of Built Properties and Land in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as amended; 

And Decision No. (8) of 2006 regarding Considering the Area of the (Riffa Views) project as one of the Regions Where non-Bahrainis are allowed to Own Built Properties and Lands; 

And upon the submission of the Deputy Prime Minister; 

And after the approval of the Council of Ministers, 

Hereby Decides: 

Article One 

The text of the first paragraph of Article One of Decision No. (43) of 2003 regarding the Ownership by Non-Bahrainis of Built Properties and Land in the Kingdom of Bahrain shall be replaced with the following text: 

Non-Bahrainis, whether natural persons or legal entities, are not allowed to own built-up real estate properties and lands except in the following areas: 

1- Residential building areas of category (A), (B) and (C). 

2- Investment and tourism areas and projects shown in the schedule attached to this Decision. 

The boundaries of the areas referred to in the first paragraph of this Article shall be determined in accordance with the maps accompanying this Decision. 

Article Two 

Every text that contradicts the provisions of this Decision shall be repealed. 

Article Three 

This Decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force from the day following the date of publication.
