Property Transactions from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2015
The President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said that trading in real estate in the Kingdom of Bahrain in year 2015 has exceeded the one-billion-dinar mark for the second year in a row. The total volume of trading in real estate during the period from first of January to 31 of December 2015 amounted to BD 1,210,515,263 (Bahrain Dinars one billion two hundred ten million, five hundred fifteen thousand, two hundred sixty-three), equivalent to US$ 3,190,600,000 (US Dollar three billion one hundred ninety million six hundred thousand). These results reflect a stable level of real estate trading in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The volume of trading in the fourth quarter of year 2015 amounted to BD 286,818,759 (Bahrain Dinars two hundred eighty-six million eight hundred eighteen thousand seven hundred fifty nine), an increase of 1% compared to the same period of last year 2014.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman stressed that these achievements were a result of the stability of the real estate market in Bahrain. Conducive government policies and the issuance of laws and legislations that guarantee rights and ownerships encourage investment in this vital and important sector. The State’s medium and long term economic plans and the diversification of the national income also contributed to the stability of real estate trading. His Excellency added that there is strong and clear confidence by real estate buyers and investors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman said that the volume of real estate transactions has increased steadily in the past few years. The number of transactions registered by SLRB during the year 2015 was 21314, which is a record high in the history of SLRB, and 18558 transactions the year before (2014) and 15847 in 2013. This highlights the growth in this sector and reflects the heavy load of work undertaken by the SLRB to achieve these numbers of real estate transactions. In keeping with these developments, the concerned SLRB departments were directed to take the necessary measures to provide the required qualified human resources and put in place the necessary systems and procedures to accelerate processing and reduce waiting times. There are many SLRB transactions that involve other departments and sections.
